Understanding When Gaming Is Entertainment – and When It Becomes a Problem

Responsible gaming means playing in a way where you remain fully in control — you decide how long to play, how much BDT to spend, and when to stop. The game or the hope of winning should never be in the driver's seat.

Online gaming is harmless entertainment for millions of people. They enjoy it the way they'd watch a cricket match – within a set budget, just for fun. But for some, it can gradually become a problem – especially when losses trigger the urge to keep playing to win it back.

177 det believes this distinction truly matters. That's why we don't just offer great games – we provide responsible gaming tools as well. Because your wellbeing is the foundation of our success.

A simple test – if thinking about playing feels enjoyable and not playing feels fine, you're in good shape. But if staying away makes you restless, or a loss leaves you feeling compelled to win it all back – it's time to take a step back.

Keep in mind: Winning shouldn't be the goal. Think of it like an entertainment expense – the same way you'd buy a movie ticket, you spend a little on gaming – but always within a set limit.

10 Habits to Keep You Safe

Set Your Budget in Advance Decide in advance how much you'll spend on gaming each week or month – and stop once that budget is gone.
Play on Your Own Schedule Decide how long you'll play before you start. Watch the clock, set an alarm. It's easy to lose track of time while gaming.
Never Chase Losses Never chase losses by placing bigger bets to recover – that's the biggest warning sign of all.
Take Regular Breaks Take at least a 10-minute break every hour. Get up, have some water, take a short walk.
Don't Play on Emotion Don't sit down to play when you're angry, sad, or emotionally low. Poor mental states impair your ability to make sound decisions.
Never Play with Borrowed Money Never play with borrowed money or funds you can't afford to lose. Only spend what you're comfortable losing entirely.

Warning Signs

Watch Out for These Signs

Gaming problems don't always appear all at once — they tend to creep up gradually. Learning to recognize these signs early means you can address them before they escalate.
